EU Law Mandating Replacable Batteries

Forums:

This is a link to an article about the EU law that I mentioned on the Holly Net this A.M. This particular article was written before the law was passed, which it was. I chose this article because it explains that manufacturers will probably choose to make their device compliant to the new EU law versus make EU-specific models. The law doesn't fully go into effect for a another 3 years I believe, but apparently some manufacturers are already making compliant models.

Also, one correction from what I said this morning, rather than requiring "no tools" to change batteries, the law says "specialized tools" cannot be required to change batteries.
