I've got to give a shout out to the AARC in general, a lot of people have helped me by answering some newbie questions. Thanks to all in the club, I've only been a member for a short time (starting in January) Tonight, while the net was going on I was soldering up my first TNC cable, and right after the net I connected the cable between a TNC & 2m radio, within a few minutes I was configured to monitor, and started seeing APRS packets! I know packet is not as heavily used as it once was, but I've always enjoyed traditional technology. I don't know if there are other members that are still doing packet, and I'm still learning about it, I'll try and mention this on the morning Holly Net as I'm going into work tomorrow. Thanks to everyone who directly and just as importantly, indirectly helped with their general enthusiasm and knowledge about HAM radio. We all benefit from our collected energies, I've added to my understanding of HAM radio because of the club.
Thanks
Glenn, N3USP

Web Site for Plotting
http://www.dxzone.com/catalog/Software/APRS/ is one of may places that has software that will display the data on a real map. This is more fun than just reading lat/long.
