Member Retention and Development

As club president Bruce Strackbein / WR3Q noted in recent meetings and newsletters, Member Retention is a very important matter facing the club.

He recently asked me to head up a group to look at Membership Retention. I would also like to stretch the topic to include membership development.

The first steps in taking on this activity is to ask for volunteers who would be interested in "actively participating." That said, I will not be waiting for volunteers and will reach out to current and past members. If you cannot actively participate but can recommend someone, please let me know.

In the near term, I will also try to collect some historical information about the membership.

I pulled data from QRZ and found over 2,000 individuals with amateur radio licenses in Anne Arundel County. I am sure a few of these are no longer up to date, but it gives us an idea of opportunity available to us.

I am also inviting Ike Lawson W3IKE and Steve Baier-Anderson N3PMF. Ike has been a member of the club for quite a while. Steve is also new, but has prior experience working with other clubs on the topic of membership.

I now it is very short notice, but I would like to have a pre-club meeting committee meeting at 7 pm tonight for those who can attend. We will meet at the club in the radio room.
